AKASA CEO Malinka Walaliyadde Recognized Among Becker’s Rising Healthcare Leaders Under 40

South San Francisco, Calif. — October 9, 2026 — AKASA, a leader in generative AI for the healthcare revenue cycle, today announced that CEO and co-founder Malinka Walaliyadde has been named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s 2026 list of rising healthcare leaders under 40.

The annual list recognizes emerging leaders driving change across healthcare. Becker’s highlighted Walaliyadde’s leadership of AKASA’s strategy, product vision, and health system partnerships, along with the company’s growth and impact on revenue cycle accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

“I’m grateful to Becker’s for this recognition,” said Walaliyadde. “It reflects our team’s commitment to tackling healthcare’s hardest problems and building AI that can make a meaningful difference.”

Walaliyadde co-founded AKASA after serving as a partner at Andreessen Horowitz, where he helped build the firm’s healthcare investment practice. Under his leadership, AKASA recently launched the first autonomous AI platform for inpatient coding and clinical documentation integrity (CDI). It brings autonomy to some of the most complex work in the revenue cycle, helping health systems accelerate cash flow, support accurate and compliant coding, and expand capacity amid staffing constraints.
